Junior Project Manager

Gravity Union is looking for our newest Junior Project Manager! This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position based primarily onsite at our office in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
About the opportunity
At Gravity Union, we empower organizations to take control of their critical information with people-focused solutions. We’re looking for our newest Junior Project Manager to support our Delivery team across a variety of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, AI, and records management projects.
A Gravity Union Project Manager works closely with the project team and is responsible for the management, planning, execution, organizing, relationship-building and administration of a project to ensure a high level of performance and quality. You’ll play a key role in supporting successful project delivery while continuing to develop your skills and confidence in project management.

The expected base range salary for this position is $55,000-$60,000, but remains flexible depending on the candidate’s unique skills and experience. The determination of a candidate’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits program.
As a Junior Project Manager, your day-to-day includes:
Supporting the creation and maintenance of project schedules, task lists, documentation, and various deliverables
Supporting the creation and maintenance of project schedules, task lists, documentation, and various deliverables
Effectively setting and maintaining client expectations based on project requirements and our statement of work
Tracking and managing project progress, milestones, and action items
Communicating relevant project updates and facilitating effective project meetings
Proactively identifying and managing any resource gaps and risks
Ability to facilitate firm (as in difficult) conversations regarding project scope, schedule, budget, and risks and issues management to various teams and individuals
Helping to define and estimate scope of work
Organizing schedules and preparing status reports
Facilitating regular check-ins with the client and with the internal project team
Providing project updates to key stakeholders
Preparing invoices in a timely manner
Supporting the project team as needed
Supporting the escalation of issues to appropriate owners
Building, maintaining, growing any business relationships, and identifying any potential future opportunities for additional work
Maintaining project records and contributing to continuous improvement of processes
Contributing to a high performance team culture that prioritizes results, collaboration, and a shared commitment to delivering long-term value
Supporting internal organization initiatives
Staying up to date with relevant technologies and best practices
Other duties as relevant and required

Are you the one?
A bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, etc.
1+ years of working experience with IT or cloud-based projects, preferably in a consulting environment, or equivalent (records management project experience strongly preferred)
General understanding of the technical consulting industry
Strong client management and communication skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools (ex: Projects Online or Planner)
You love to bring people together and you know how to facilitate effective meetings
Working experience directly with people and genuine love for customer service
You’re adaptable and able to go with the flow when things change
You love to learn new things and learning excites you
You know how to have fun!
Icing on the cake
Working experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or digital transformation projects
Working experience with Enterprise Content Management and/or records management systems
Keen interest in IT or records management
CAPM or equivalent certification
Change management knowledge
MS-900: Fundamentals certificate or additional Microsoft certifications
