Bridging Silos: Empowering Records Management Through Information Governance Leadership

Siloed teams, inconsistent practices, and limited executive support continue to hold many records and information management programs back. Often, the challenge isn’t a lack of effort — it’s a lack of alignment. This session explores how organizations can overcome these barriers by establishing an Information Governance (IG) Steering Committee that brings structure, visibility, and leadership to records and information management initiatives.

You'll learn:

  • Common records and information management challenges — and why silos persist

  • The core principles of a successful Information Governance Steering Committee

  • How executive sponsorship strengthens governance outcomes

  • Practical strategies for advocating for an IG Steering Committee

  • Ways to align records management with broader business goals

This session is ideal for records managers and information professionals looking to elevate governance conversations, strengthen collaboration, and build sustainable records management programs that work across departments.
