Microsoft 365 Consultant

Full-time, Vancouver

Gravity Union is looking for our newest Microsoft 365 Consultant! This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position based primarily onsite at our office in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

We’re looking for a Microsoft 365 Consultant who thrives at the intersection of technology and people. In this role, you’ll design and deliver Microsoft 365 solutions that improve how teams collaborate, manage content, and work together day-to-day.

This is a highly collaborative and client-facing consulting role. You’ll facilitate workshops, provide strategic recommendations, configure solutions, guide clients through change, and make the most of out of their technical investments within their organization.

The expected base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 but remains flexible depending on the candidate’s unique skills and experience. The determination of a candidate’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits program.

As a Microsoft 365 Consultant, your day-to-day includes:

  • Designing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft 365 (SharePoint Online/Teams collaboration portals, employee portals, and applied records management projects)

  • Successfully implementing digital transformation rollout cycles through activities such as current state assessments, requirements gathering, content audit, card sorting, mind map creation, iterative prototype building and testing of new solutions, content migration, go-live and post go-live support, and training sessions

  • Facilitating client workshops and providing recommendations on Microsoft 365, collaboration, governance, and records management best practices

  • Translating client requirements into clear recommendations, functional specifications, and solution roadmaps

  • Effectively setting and maintaining client expectations based on project requirements and scope, our statement of work, and clients’ functional and regulatory needs

  • Leveraging empathy, change management, and your technical expertise to help clients navigate their digital transformation journey and implement sustainable solutions

  • Configuring and supporting information management and compliance capabilities within Microsoft 365 (ex: SharePoint Online, Purview, permission models, labels and retention schedules, content lifecycle management, site architecture, etc.)

  • Staying up to date with relevant technologies, certifications, and industry best practices while proactively sharing your findings with team members

  • Supporting internal organizational initiatives and professional development opportunities

Are you the one?

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience

  • 2+ years of working experience within a consulting environment or client-facing role, ideally involving Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, or digital workplace projects

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online, particularly around content management, metadata, versioning, permissions, governance, and site architecture

  • Experience working with enterprise content management or collaboration platforms

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical business solutions

  • Experience integrating Microsoft 365 with third-party platforms and APIs

  • You’re an active listener and enjoy helping people to solve their business challenges

  • Comfortable facilitating workshops, interviewing clients, and synthesizing varied viewpoints

  • You’re adaptable, curious, and excited to learn new technologies

  • You know how to have fun!

Icing on the cake

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-700 or other Microsoft 365 certifications) are considered an asset or willingness to obtain certification during employment

  • Experience with legacy SharePoint environments (ex: 2019, 2016, and 2013)

  • Experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx) and custom SharePoint development

  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, Collabware, Collabspace and records management initiatives

  • Experience with Power Platform (ex: Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate)

  • Exposure to content migration or cleanup initiatives

  • Experience working in compliance-heavy or highly regulated environments

  • Exposure to emerging Microsoft AI technologies and concepts such as:

    • Copilot and other AI tools such as Graph API, Microsoft Search, Viva Topics, etc.

    • AI governance - particularly with aligning compliance frameworks and Purview tools and best practices

    • Prompt engineering and AI training

    • Low code AI integration such as Power Apps and Power Builder

  • Any other Microsoft or other relevant certifications

  • Bilingual in English and French
