System Administrator
Full-time, Vancouver
Gravity Union is looking for our newest System Administrator! This is a full-time (40 hours/week), permanent position. This position is based onsite at our office in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

Highly organized and agile, you’re a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As our System Administrator, you’ll take on a wide range of day-to-day technical responsibilities, from managing user accounts and maintaining systems, to helping to troubleshoot and support. You’ll play a critical role in keeping our infrastructure running smoothly, secure, and up to date.

The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000, but remains flexible depending on the candidate’s unique skills and experience. The determination of a candidate’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits program.
As a System Administrator, your day-to-day includes:
Providing daily IT support for our internal team (both on-site and remote users)
Maintaining and administering Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and SharePoint environments
Managing device provisioning, configuration, and patching
Monitoring system performance, backups, and security logs
Supporting with various onboarding and offboarding processes
Documenting, executing, and auditing our IT policies and procedures to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Assisting with network and infrastructure management (firewalls, VPN, switches)
Supporting project delivery by configuring, testing, and deploying Microsoft 365 or Azure solutions under the guidance of senior consultants or the IT lead
Assisting with client environment setup, user provisioning, and access configuration
Performing routine technical tasks related to migrations, backups, and environment documentation
Troubleshooting or resolving user or system issues in client and internal environments, escalating as needed
Collaborating with clients and IT to gather requirements, analyze business needs and translate them into technical specifications
Delivering comprehensive training to empower end-users and administrators to maximize their SharePoint solution and providing support as required
Working with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and low-code apps
Contributing to a high performance team culture that prioritizes results, collaboration, and a shared commitment to delivering long-term value
Supporting quality assurance activities to ensure deliverables meet client and internal standards
Supporting internal organization initiatives
Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices to recommend improvements and innovations
Other duties as relevant and required

Are you the one?
Bachelor’s degree or accredited diplomas in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
1-3+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a similar technical role
Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows systems
Hands-on experience with user administration in Microsoft Entra ID/Active Directory
Experience with scripting (Powershell) and automation
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, VPNs)
Familiarity with Azure and Intune management
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with an eagerness to learn
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (you value transparency, enjoy helping others, and working as part of a team)
Proactive and a self-starter (you take ownership and follow through)
You’re adaptable and able to go with the flow when things change
You’re a curious person that loves to learn
You know how to have fun!
Icing on the cake
Knowledge and experience with cybersecurity best practices
Experience working in a consulting or SaaS environment preferred but not required
Working experience with SharePoint On-Premises is a plus
Knowledge and experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (and/or AWS)
Familiarity with Azure AI Services and Azure AI Foundry
Microsoft certifications such as MS-900, AZ-900, MD-102, or SC-900
Experience with leveraging AI agents, AI architecture, Azure services (with a specific preference for Search, Vision, Safety and Open AI), Copilot and/or Copilot Studio
Experience with governance frameworks, records management, or compliance-heavy environments (ex: public sector, finance, healthcare) is a plus
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform is a plus
Experience with Azure DevOps is a plus
